Hemp agrimony / Byddon chwerw / Bedwen chwerw / Eupatorium cannabinum

Flowers July-September

hemp agrimony
This tall plant, which can grow up to about 4ft, is sometimes confused with valerian.  However, the leaves are quite a bit different, resembling those of cannabis, hence both the English and Latin names.  The plant is fairly common in marshes and by rivers.  I found this specimen in Cwm Darren, Caerphilly, growing in a marshy patch.
