Corn marigold / Melyn yr ŷd / Aban / Rhuddos / Chrysanthemum segetum

Flowers July-September

corn marigold
As its name implies, this striking flower is usually found in cornfields.  It's one one of those plants which is common in some places and rare in others, even within the same region.  I found this specimen a long way from any cornfield, in the coastal village of Polruan, Cornwall.  Next time I come across a specimen, I'll perhaps be able to replace this image with one that's more in focus.
