Angelica / Llys yr angel / Angelica sylvestris
Flowers July - September

| A fairly common plant of marshy places and riverbanks throughout Britain, this is a wild relative of the angelica grown commercially for cake-decorating. This specimen was one of many growing by the lake in Parc Bryn Bach, Blaenau Gwent. It is easily distinguished from similarly tall and sturdy members of the family umbelliferae (such as hogweed) by the pink flowers and purple stems. |
